Updated information has been added to the "Document" page regarding the Knik Goose Bay Road Reconstruction Project.
Project Overview
The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (ADOT&PF) is proposing to reconstruct Knik Goose Bay (KGB) Road in Wasilla from MP 0.3 (Centaur Avenue near the Palmer-Wasilla Highway intersection) to Vine Road at Mile 6.8. The goal of the project is to improve mobility for people and freight and to enhance access management along this segment of the road, thereby improving safety and reducing congestion for roadway users.
Preliminary studies are underway to determine the scale, location, and type of improvements, which could include realignment, adding lanes, new signalization, and other associated safety and capacity enhancement measures.
